Our Grant-making Approach
PTBCI
We invest in innovators and system-changers that help young people thrive in school and access great careers in STEM.

PTBCI
Our Grant Strategy
Grantmaking enables PTBCI to discover, support and scale up solutions that improve outcomes for young people around the world.
Our grantmaking decisions are informed by research and our Youth Advisory Board is involved at every step.
PTBCI
Our Grant-making Policy
Through collective action and collaboration, we can create a fairer future. In building our network of organisations, we aim to:
Actively include young people in shaping our priorities and decisions
Partner with organisations that have historically been underfunded
Use our grant-making to catalyse innovation and draw in further investment
Be transparent about our approach, who we fund, and why
Support the partners we work with beyond funding, providing resource for capacity-building
Be flexible and trusting, offering both restricted and unrestricted grants

The Impact Committee
PTBCI’s Impact Committee uses the power of intergenerational collaboration to oversee all grant-making activity. Its responsibilities include:
Strategy
Review and evolve our grantmaking policy and performance, and suggest new funding programmes
Delivery
Oversee PTBCI’s grantmaking process and recommend new partners to approach
Research
Review our learning partners and activity, and identify new areas for research
Decisions
Based on information from PTBCI’s team, make funding decisions on all proposals over a certain amount
